An integrated model proposal for project management in universities

Abstract
In this study project center/office structure at the Selçuk University was examined by the case method with starting from the frame of structures about the project office on universities in Turkey. In the first part of the study, it was aimed to present a conceptual framework for project management practices, and project offices/centers of some universities were analyzed comparatively. In order to follow a systematic way in the selection of universities for comparison, nine state and private universities that were in the first tenth and have project office/center unit according to METU Informatics Institute URAP 2013 Turkey General Rankings List and the other eight state and private universities that were not in the list were chosen through convenience sampling method. In selection of these eight universities, the quickly access to information via Internet was taken into consideration, and the information about project office/center structures was obtained through this method. In the second part of the study, conceptual model that investigated by the case method and developed for the establishment of 'Selçuk University Project Development and Management Practices and Research Center' was evaluated. In the final part of the study, Selçuk University examined as a case study and other universities project center/office structures have been discussed with a critical perspective.
